Description

Origin
The Yucca rostrata, commonly known as Beaked Yucca, originates from the regions of Chihuahua and Coahuila in northern Mexico and southwestern Texas. There, it is part of the landscape resistant to fire and frost characteristic of the Chihuahuan desert region.

Features

The Yucca rostrata is an evergreen plant known for its striking blue-grey leaves, which gather in an almost spherical symmetrical crown at the top of its slender trunk. It can reach a height of 4 meters or more. It rarely produces flowers, which are usually white and bloom on tall, straight stalks, giving the plant an impressive silhouette, especially when illuminated at sunrise or sunset.

Care

Despite its exotic appearance, the Yucca rostrata is a hardy plant that can survive with minimal care, provided it is given the right conditions. The plant prefers full sunlight and well-drained soil, but can also survive in partial shade. Generally, the Yucca rostrata requires minimal irrigation, especially outside its original desert landscape, but may require regular watering during particularly dry periods. When transplanting, care must be taken with the root system, as it is relatively fragile.
