Description
Origin : Native to Central America (sunny semi-arid climate). Very popular indoors for its beauty and reliability.
Characteristics : Thickened trunk, tuft of leaves, ribbon-like leaves, flexible apex (elephantipes). Indoor size: 1–2.5 m in pots.
Maintenance : Full sun to very bright light; little water; allow to dry out. Ideal temperature 18–26 °C. Average to high ambient humidity depending on the species; use a draining substrate (potting soil + perlite) and avoid stagnant water.
