Description
Origin
The Vanda Lisanne, also known as the “blue orchid,” originates from Southeast Asia. It is an epiphytic plant, which means it grows on the branches of trees in the rainforest. Its distribution is very widespread, ranging from India to southern China and from the Philippines to northern Australia.
Characteristics
The Vanda Lisanne is characterized by its blue flowers, a rather rare color in the plant world. The flowers are large and round, with a diameter that can vary from 6 to 8 cm. The plant has thick, hanging roots and long, narrow leaves. A mature plant can reach a length of 70 cm to 1 m.
Care
Caring for the Vanda Lisanne requires some dedication. The plant needs a lot of light but does not tolerate direct sunlight well. Ideally, it is kept in a transparent pot so that the roots can also receive light. Regular watering is essential, preferably early in the morning. It is important to also regularly mist the plant to increase air humidity.
