The ‘Mrs. Iceton’ Croton, also known as Codiaeum variegatum ‘Mrs. Iceton’, is originally a tropical plant. The variety is naturally found in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the western Pacific Ocean. Despite its exotic origin, the plant is cultivated worldwide for its decorative properties.
Characteristics
The characteristics of the ‘Mrs. Iceton’ Croton are its brightly colored leaves in yellow, pink, red, and purple. Additionally, the leaves grow in drooping branches, which provide a spectacular color effect, especially during the growing season. The plant grows upward and can reach up to six meters tall in nature. In pots, growth is usually limited to about one meter.
Care
In terms of care, the ‘Mrs. Iceton’ Croton needs a bright location, but avoid direct sunlight. The plant requires high humidity and regular watering. It is important to let the soil dry slightly between waterings, and in winter, watering can be reduced. Furthermore, the ‘Mrs. Iceton’ Croton is quite sensitive to frost and thrives best at a temperature between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius.
