Origin
The Scindapsus ‘Manjula Green’ is part of the Epipremnum family and originates from Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific. This climbing plant often grows on humid trees in these tropical regions, where it enjoys shaded areas and high humidity. The plant is also known as the golden pothos.
Characteristics
The ‘Manjula Green’ gets its name from the deep green color of its leaves, which can reach up to 30 cm in length. It is a versatile climbing plant that can twist around anything and cling on. Its growing habit is climbing, making the plant suitable as a hanging plant or as a climbing plant against a moss pole. A striking feature of the Scindapsus ‘Manjula Green’ is its unique leaf pattern: light green with dark green edges, sometimes alternated with a bit of yellow.
Care
The ‘Manjula Green’ has a number of care requirements that must be met to ensure the plant’s health. Although this plant is tolerant of lower light levels, it will thrive best in partial shade without direct sunlight. Watering this plant is ideally done when the top layer of soil feels dry. Due to its native environment, it is a plant that particularly enjoys high humidity. Air that is too dry can result in brown leaf tips.
