Origin
The Schefflera arboricola ‘Compacta’, also known in France as the dwarf Schefflera, originates from Taiwan and southern China. In these regions, the plant grows in subtropical forests, where it is accustomed to a naturally warm and humid climate.
Characteristics
The Schefflera arboricola ‘Compacta’ is a popular indoor plant, especially due to its compact growth and the attractive structure of its leaves. The plant has shiny, palmate leaves that are composed of many small leaflets, giving this plant its characteristic umbrella shape. It remains relatively small but can in some cases reach up to 1 meter in height. The Schefflera arboricola ‘Compacta’ has dense and regular growth, making it an excellent plant for creating a green ambiance.
Care
The Schefflera arboricola ‘Compacta’ is not very demanding in terms of care. The plant needs plenty of light but cannot tolerate direct sunlight, so it should preferably be placed in a shaded spot. In terms of temperature, it fares best in temperatures between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. During the summer period, it is best to water the plant when the top layer of soil is dry to the touch. In winter, the soil can be a bit drier between waterings. Regular misting will be appreciated, as the plant originates from a humid climate.
