Characteristics
The Schefflera actinophylla ‘Amate’ has a remarkable characteristic appearance with green leaves arranged in groups, each group having 7 to 16 small leaves, giving the plant its typical umbrella look. The plant can reach a height of 15 meters in its natural environment, although it generally remains much smaller in domestic conditions. During the growing period, the plant produces red or pink flowers, which grow in clusters arranged in rays.
Care
Proper care of the Schefflera actinophylla ‘Amate’ includes a well-sunny to semi-shaded position, preferably without direct afternoon sun. The plant needs to be watered regularly, but it is essential to avoid water accumulation to prevent root rot. The ideal indoor temperature for the ‘Amate’ ranges between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. The plant also requires a high humidity level, which can be achieved through regular misting.
