Description
Origin
The Sansevieria cylindrica tower originates in Angola, Africa, where it grows freely in rocky and dry areas. The plant is also known by another name referring to its thick, cylindrical leaves and its origin.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria cylindrica tower is a succulent plant characterized by its stiff, upright leaves marked by horizontal bands of dark green. These leaves are circular in cross-section and can grow up to 120 cm in height. They give the plant a tower-like shape, hence the addition of ‘tower’ to its name. Flowers are rare but when they appear, they are usually green or white arranged in an upright cluster.
Care
The Sansevieria cylindrica tower requires relatively little care compared to other houseplants. The plant is extremely drought-tolerant and performs best when the soil is completely dry between waterings. It can withstand a lot of light, but can also survive in low light conditions. However, it has a preference for warm temperatures, as it originates from a warm climate.
