Origin
The Ptychosperma macarthurii, also known as the Macarthur palm, is native to northern Australia and New Guinea. The plant belongs to the Aracaceae family and thrives best in tropical and subtropical climates.


Characteristics

This palm is known for its slender growth, multi-trunks reaching heights of up to 10 meters. The leaves are pinnate and hang generously, with greenish-yellow petioles that turn red when exposed to plenty of light. The flowers are white and yellow, forming clusters, followed by small red fruits.


Care

The Ptychosperma macarthurii requires well-draining soil and sufficient water but also withstands drought periods. The palm does well in full sun to partial shade. This palm is resistant to light frosts and can survive temperatures down to -3°C. Regular pruning is necessary to keep the plant healthy and attractive.
