Characteristics
This palm is known for its slender, multi-trunk growth that can reach a height of 10 meters. The leaves are pinnate and hang generously, with yellow-green petioles that turn red when exposed to plenty of light. The flowers are white and yellow and form clusters, followed by small red fruits.
Care
The Ptychosperma macarthurii requires well-draining soil and adequate water, but it also tolerates periods of drought. The palm does well in full sun to partial shade. This palm is resistant to light frost and can survive temperatures as low as -3°C. Regular pruning is necessary to keep the plant healthy and attractive.
