Origin
The Pleomele (Dracaena) reflexa ‘Song of Sri Lanka’ is a plant native to Madagascar and the islands of the Indian Ocean. It belongs to the Asparagaceae family and is part of the genus Dracaena. This plant has several nicknames, but they will not be translated into French.
Characteristics
The ‘Song of Sri Lanka’ is characterized by its narrow, glossy, green leaves which are considered decorative. The leaves are upright and form an elegant shape. The plant can reach up to 2 meters in height, with new leaves growing from the trunk. The plant’s flowering consists of small yellow or white flowers, but they are generally quite rare.
Care
A Pleomele reflexa prefers moist and regular soil. The potting mix should never dry out between waterings. The plant prefers indirect light and can be damaged by direct sunlight. It also likes a humid environment, so regular watering is good for the plant. While the plant grows, trimming the tops of the plant will encourage it to branch out more.
