Origin
The Philodendron selloum, also known as the Lacy Tree Philodendron, originates from South America, specifically in the tropical forests of Brazil and Paraguay. This plant thrives in humid and warm conditions, as well as the rich soil of the rainforest.
Characteristics
The Philodendron selloum is an evergreen plant with large, shiny, and deeply lobed leaves that create a lush atmosphere. The leaves can reach up to 90 centimeters in width. The plant grows in the form of a tree and can reach up to 3 meters in height under favorable conditions. The thick stem from which the leaves emerge in clusters is particularly remarkable.
Care
This plant likes a source of bright but indirect light and cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. It also requires a large amount of water, without the water being allowed to stagnate. It is therefore recommended to let the plant dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. The Philodendron selloum does not like cold temperatures and thrives best at temperatures between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius.
