Origin
The Philodendron ‘New Red’ is a variant from the Philodendron plant family, originally found in the tropical forests of South America. Like other Philodendrons, the ‘New Red’ also grows in the underlayer of the rainforest, always close to the ground.
Features
The Philodendron ‘New Red’ stands out from other Philodendrons by its pronounced dark red leaves, which become brighter as the plant ages. When young, the plant’s leaves are almost entirely red, then transform into a mix of red and green. The plant usually reaches a length of about 60 cm and a maximum width of 25 cm.
Care
The Philodendron ‘New Red’ requires regular but moderate watering, and excess water must be able to drain properly to prevent root rot. Additionally, the plant needs a source of bright but indirect light to maintain its vibrant color. The plant thrives best at air humidity levels of 50-60%, and the average room temperature is generally sufficient. It requires little fertilization, usually once every two months is sufficient.
