Characteristics
The Pachycereus pringlei can reach an impressive height of 20 meters. The cactus has a sturdy, column-like shape, with several lateral arms that can grow from the main trunk. The spines of the Pachycereus pringlei are long and sharp, and their color varies from gray to brown. In the spring, the cactus produces large white flowers that open at night and close at sunrise.
Care
Although the Pachycereus pringlei is a desert plant, it needs regular watering. During the hot summer months, it is recommended to water the plant once a week. In winter, watering can be reduced to once a month. It is important to ensure that the soil is well-drained to prevent root rot. This cactus species prefers a sunny location but can also tolerate a bit of shade during the day.
