Characteristics
The Monstera deliciosa is distinguished by its large, glossy green leaves which stand out due to their natural hole patterns. The leaves can grow up to 90 cm long. The plant is an epiphyte, which means it grows on the surface of other plants and trees in nature. Additionally, the plant produces large irregular white flowers, followed by edible fruits that have a slightly pineapple taste.
Care
When caring for the Monstera deliciosa, consider its natural habitat; the plant likes bright indirect light and high air humidity. Watering is necessary when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch. However, avoid overwatering as it can lead to root rot. To encourage growth, a monthly dose of liquid fertilizer is recommended during the growing season.
