Origin
The Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’, also known as the Banyan Tree, originates from India and Pakistan. It is considered a sacred tree there and is often planted near temples. It is a tropical plant that tolerates heat very well.

Characteristics

The characteristics of Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’ are its large heart-shaped leaves with an attractive velvety texture and rich green color. The trunk is sturdy, gray in color and often branches out exceptionally. This plant has aerial roots that provide additional support and water absorption. Mature specimens can reach a considerable height.

Care

Caring for Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’ requires some attention. The plant needs plenty of light but does not tolerate direct sunlight well. It is important to water regularly, but excess water must be able to drain away to prevent root rot. Humidity of 50 to 70% is ideal, meaning this plant may need to be misted in dry conditions.
