Description

Origin
The Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’, also known as the Banyan Tree, originates in India and Pakistan. It is considered a sacred tree there and is often planted near temples. It is a tropical plant that withstands heat very well.

Characteristics

The characteristics of Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’ are its large heart-shaped leaves with an attractive and velvety texture and a rich green color. The stem is robust, gray in color, and often branches out exceptionally. This plant has aerial roots that provide additional support and water absorption. Mature specimens can reach a considerable height.

Maintenance

The care of Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’ requires some attention. The plant needs a lot of light but does not tolerate direct sunlight well. It is important to water regularly, but excess water must be able to drain to prevent root rot. Humidity of 50 to 70% is ideal, which means this plant may need to be misted in dry conditions. It is advisable to feed the plant once a month with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
