Description

Origin
The Euphorbia resinifera, also known as Resiniferatum, is a plant native to Morocco. This succulent originates in the Atlas Mountains, where it grows on rocky slopes at altitudes of over 1500 meters above sea level. It is in this dry and mountainous landscape that the Euphorbia resinifera has evolved to become the hardy plant we know today.

Characteristics

The Euphorbia resinifera has distinctive characteristics that set it apart among its peers. The plant forms a basal rosette of quadrangular and cylindrical branches that can reach up to one meter tall. The branches are green to dark green in color, with sharp spines along the edges that lighten to brown or black at their tips. The small yellow flowers that appear in spring are also characteristic.

Care

The Euphorbia resinifera has specific care requirements due to its origin. The plant prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Overwatering should be avoided, as although the plant is drought tolerant, it can be prone to root rot if the soil is too moist. It is advisable to keep the plant indoors during the winter months, as the Euphorbia resinifera is not frost-resistant.
