The Dracaena marginata Bicolor is native to Madagascar and certain tropical regions of Asia. This species is part of the Asparagaceae family. They have become very popular indoor plants in many parts of the world due to their high tolerance to various climatic conditions.
Characteristics
The Dracaena marginata Bicolor, also known as the Dragon Tree, is distinguished by its slender woody stems and long narrow leaves. Its leaves are green with bright red edges, earning it the name “bicolor”. The plant can reach several meters in height if grown in ideal conditions. The plant grows slowly but can reach an impressive height over time.
Maintenance
The Dracaena marginata Bicolor does not require much maintenance and is relatively easy to keep. It is important that the plant is placed in a bright location, but direct sunlight exposure is not recommended. Additionally, the plant requires moderate water needs – it’s better to underwater than overwater the plant. In fact, the soil should dry out between waterings. It is advisable to feed the plant once a month with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season.
