Origin
The Dracaena marginata Bicolor originates from Madagascar and certain tropical regions of Asia. This species is part of the Asparagaceae family. They have become very popular houseplants in many parts of the world due to their high tolerance to various climate conditions.
Characteristics
The Dracaena marginata Bicolor, also known as the Dragon Tree, is distinguished by its woody, slender stems and long, narrow leaves. Its leaves are green with bright red edges, giving it the name “bicolor.” The plant can reach several meters in height if grown in ideal conditions. The plant grows slowly but can achieve impressive height over time.
Care
Dracaena marginata Bicolor requires little maintenance and is relatively easy to keep. It is important for the plant to be placed in a bright location, but direct sun exposure is not recommended. Additionally, the plant has moderate water needs—it’s better to under-water than over-water the plant. In fact, the soil should dry out between waterings. It is advisable to feed the plant once a month with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season.
