The Dracaena marginata Bicolor originates from Madagascar and some tropical regions of Asia. This species is part of the Asparagaceae family. They have become very popular indoor plants in many parts of the world due to their high tolerance to various climatic conditions.
Characteristics
The Dracaena marginata Bicolor, also known as the Madagascar Dragon Tree, is distinguished by its woody and slender trunks and long narrow leaves. Its leaves are green with bright red edges, which gives it the name “bicolor”. The plant can reach several meters in height if grown under ideal conditions. The plant grows slowly but can achieve an impressive height over time.
Care
The Dracaena marginata Bicolor requires little maintenance and is relatively easy to keep. It is important for the plant to be placed in a bright spot, but direct sunlight exposure is not recommended. Additionally, the plant has moderate water needs – it’s better to underwater than overwater the plant. In fact, the soil should dry out between waterings. It is advisable to feed the plant once a month with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season.
