Origin
The Dracaena fragrans ‘Dorado’ belongs to the family Asparagaceae and originally comes from tropical regions of Africa, such as Mozambique, South Sudan, and Côte d’Ivoire. However, thanks to its remarkable characteristics and great adaptability, this plant has now spread to many other regions of the world.
Characteristics
The Dracaena fragrans ‘Dorado’ is an evergreen shrub with shiny dark green leaves. The plant can reach up to 15 meters in height in the wild, but often remains around 1.2 meters in indoor environments. The ‘Dorado’ variety of Dracaena fragrans is characterized by its golden margins which form a beautiful contrast with the dark green center of the leaves. The plant rarely flowers indoors, but when it does, it produces small white flowers with a strong sweet scent.
