Origin
The Dracaena deremensis ‘White Jewel’ originates from the tropical regions of Africa, such as Ivory Coast, Angola, and Sudan. The plant belongs to the Agavaceae family, which is widely spread in tropical and subtropical areas.
Characteristics
The Dracaena deremensis ‘White Jewel’ is recognized by its long narrow leaves with a characteristic cream-white stripe in the center of the leaf. The plant can reach a height of two meters, although it often remains smaller in households. It is an evergreen plant, which means it retains its leaves all year round.
Care
The Dracaena deremensis ‘White Jewel’ requires relatively little maintenance and is therefore a popular houseplant. It thrives well in partial shade and prefers moderate temperatures, between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. Overwatering should be avoided; watering once a week is generally sufficient. Additionally, the plant requires little nutrients, once in spring and summer is enough. Wiping the leaves with a damp cloth can help remove dust and keep the plant healthy.
