Buxus sempervirens is an evergreen shrub that can grow into a medium-sized spherical small tree. It has glossy, dark green leaves that are elliptical in shape and measure about 1.5 to 2.5 cm long. The flowers are small and yellowish-green, usually blooming in spring. It also produces small round fruits that mature in autumn.
