Origin
The Bucida buceras ‘Shady Lady’ is a type of evergreen tree originally located in the tropical regions of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. It is found both at sea level and at altitudes up to 1200 meters. The plant is also known as ‘Black Olive’, although it has no relation to the true olive.
Characteristics
The Bucida buceras ‘Shady Lady’ is known for its graceful and elongated branches and dense dark green leaves that form its characteristic silhouette. The leaves measure about 2 to 4 cm long, are slightly glossy, and found in clusters. This tree produces inconspicuous greenish flowers in spring, followed by small egg-shaped fruits.
