Description
Origin
The Asplenium dimorphum ‘Parvati’ is a species of fern native to the Himalayas. This type of plant is mainly found in humid mountainous areas. Although the plant is naturally present in Asia, it is now widely spread and cultivated worldwide, including in the Netherlands.
Characteristics
The Asplenium dimorphum ‘Parvati’ is an evergreen fern known for its beautiful foliage structure. The leaves are sword-shaped, dark green in color, and have a leathery texture. The leaves grow asymmetrically, giving an interesting and unusual shape. The tops of the leaves are sharp and pointed, while the base is wide and rounded.
Care
The Asplenium dimorphum ‘Parvati’ prefers a location with indirect light and protection from strong winds. It’s important to water the plant regularly without making the soil too wet, as the fern is sensitive to root rot. The Asplenium dimorphum ‘Parvati’ thrives best in a constant environment, so it is advisable to avoid temperature fluctuations. Although the plant does not require high soil quality, well-drained soil rich in humus is preferable.
