The Aralia (Polyscias) ‘Ming’, originates from Southeast Asia, specifically the Pacific region. This exotic plant is part of the Araliaceae family and comes in several varieties, including the ‘Ming’.
Characteristics
The ‘Ming’ Aralia is recognized by its distinctive dark green cut leaves, which have an almost architectural appearance. The leaves form dense growth and are interspersed with fine stems. It is a robust plant that can reach heights of up to 2 meters. Although it does not bear flowers, it is a popular choice due to its unique leaf shapes and structures.
Care
The ‘Ming’ Aralia thrives well in a bright location but partially tolerates sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. Moderate watering is recommended; the roots should never be in water as this can lead to root rot. Regular fertilization is beneficial, especially during the growth period in spring and summer. Although this plant prefers a warmer climate, it withstands temperatures down to 10 degrees Celsius.
