Origin
Alocasia Wentii is a species of tropical plants originally from the humid regions of Southeast Asia. This plant is commonly referred to as the “elephant ear plant” due to its large leaves resembling those of an elephant. It primarily grows in the lower layer of the rainforest.
Characteristics
Alocasia Wentii is characterized by its striking, glossy leaves, dark green in color with a bronze underside. The plant can reach up to 1.5 meters in height, and its stems are thick and fleshy. The leaves can grow up to 30 centimeters long and have a typically heart-shaped appearance, with the tip pointed downward.
Care
Alocasia Wentii requires a bright and humid environment, but not direct sunlight. The soil should be well-drained and regularly moistened, without the plant being submerged in water. In the worst-case scenario, the plant can withstand a degree of frost by covering the bulb during winter. A weekly misting will be greatly appreciated by the Alocasia Wentii.
