The Alocasia ‘Polly’, also known as the Elephant Ear Plant, originates from the humid tropical forests of Southeast Asia. This specific variant was created through selective breeding and is distinguished by its compact and decorative appearance.
Characteristics
The Alocasia ‘Polly’ has deeply pleated dark green leaves, which have very defined veins. The leaves are shaped like an arrowhead and are very sturdy. This unique foliage grows from a short, thickened stem. The plant generally does not exceed 50 centimeters in height.
Care
The Alocasia ‘Polly’ requires a warm environment and a high level of humidity, comparable to its original tropical habitat. For optimal growth, indirect sunlight and temperatures between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius are needed. The soil should be kept consistently moist but not soaked. It is also recommended to water the plant regularly to maintain humidity.
