Description
Origin
The Aglaonema ‘Stripes’, originating from the humid and shaded forests of Southeast Asia. This includes the tropical and subtropical areas of Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Over the years, it has spread worldwide as a houseplant, thanks to its attractive appearance and ease of care.
Characteristics
The Aglaonema ‘Stripes’ is known for its remarkable leaves, whose chlorophyll-rich green contrasts with light, almost white stripes. The leaves are broad, inversely oval-shaped, and can vary in length, up to a maximum of 30 centimeters. The plant remains relatively compact and generally reaches a height of up to 60 centimeters.
Care
The Aglaonema ‘Stripes’ is aptly named regarding its care requirements. Generally, the plant prefers a warm and humid climate and indirect sunlight. Since it originally comes from the forest, it can also tolerate low light very well, making it a true shade lover. Care includes regular watering, especially during the growing period, but be careful not to overwater as this could cause root rot. Regular application of a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season is also recommended.
