Origin
The Acer palmatum dissectum ‘Garnet’ is a variety of Japanese maple, originally from East Asia. It is a popular species in landscape architecture and gardening, especially in regions with a temperate climate. This species was first introduced to the West in the 19th century.
Characteristics
The Acer pal. diss. ‘Garnet’ is distinguished by its remarkable foliage color, a deep red. The leaves are fine and delicately cut, giving the plant an elegant appearance. In autumn, the leaf color changes to a magnificent red-orange hue. The ‘Garnet’ remains relatively small compared to other maples, typically reaching a height of 2 to 3 meters, with equivalent spread.
Care

The plant prefers slightly acidic soil but can also survive in neutral or slightly alkaline conditions.
