The Acer palmatum ‘Crimson Queen’ is a Japanese maple tree originating from East Asia, specifically Japan, China, and Korea. This plant is part of the Sapindaceae family. The decorative maple has been cultivated in Japan for centuries for its aesthetically appealing appearance.


Characteristics

The ‘Crimson Queen’ is known for its deep red leaves and gracefully drooping branches. The leaves are deeply incised with five to seven lobes and have finely toothed edges, turning a magnificent scarlet red in the fall. The plant is quite compact and reaches a maximum adult height of four meters. Additionally, the ‘Crimson Queen’ produces small purple flowers followed by red fruits.


Care
