Origin
The Philodendron pedatum, also known in some regions as the Oak Leaf Philodendron, originates from the tropical regions of Central and South America. It is a highly diverse plant species with nearly 500 different varieties thriving in these areas.
Characteristics
The Philodendron pedatum is a climbing plant remarkable for its deeply segmented leaves, resembling oak leaves. These leaves start with a bright lime green hue and mature to a dark green, giving them an attractive and lively appearance. The plant can grow significantly, reaching an average height of about 1 to 1.5 meters.
Care
Like most Philodendron species, the P. pedatum grows best in a bright location with indirect light. It does not tolerate extremely dry conditions and therefore requires moist soil for optimal health and growth. Generally, this species requires little maintenance and can adapt to a variety of indoor conditions.
